We can say that our family, a father, mother, a girl and a boy, has arrived. They travelled from Beirut to Amman to Toronto and finally arrived in Ottawa on January 1st. Snow!

Seaway Valley Presbytery is continuing to raise funds to support our family from Syria.

Please note the following instructions about how to send donations.

Cheques should be made payable to “Williamsburg United Church.”

On the “memo” line of the cheque (lower, left hand corner) please write “Refugee Family.”     This could also be indicated on a note attached to the cheque.

Cheques should be sent to:

            Gordon Garlough

            4105 Boucks Hill Road, R.R. #1

            Williamsburg, Ontario      K0C 2H0

Personal donations must have an attached note clearly indicating the donor’s name and mailing address. This is for recording and receipting purposes.

Thanks to all who contribute. We have raised over $30 000 so far.

Seaway Valley Presbytery

Seaway Valley Presbytery is part of the Montreal and Ottawa Conference of The United Church of Canada. Geographically, it is situated in south-east Ontario bounded in the west by a line running from Easton's Corners to Algonquin and Prescott and east to the Quebec border in a block bounded roughly by Highway 43 in the north and The Saint Lawrence Seaway in the south. At the eastern end, the boundary runs north along Highway 138 to Riceville and Pendleton and east from there to Cassburn and Hawkesbury. All told, there are currently (late 2012) 30 charges in the Presbytery. A number of these are multi-point charges. The bulk of these are rural or small town. The only large town charge is in Cornwall.
